Kentucky Camping and Shaker Village

This week, we decided to break away from our usual busy travel schedules and focus on unplugging and fully immersing ourselves in the camping experience. Cummins Ferry RV Park called out to us, inviting us to take a seat, relax, and listen to the soothing sounds of the waterfall. As the final stop on our Midwest journey, we knew it was the perfect place to recharge and unwind. Camping is not a new adventure for us, but rarely do we find a place that encourages us to pause and enjoy the natural surroundings as much as this one.

In the tranquil ambiance of Cummins Ferry RV Park, we embraced the simplicity of camping. We sat by the campfire, taking in the warmth and camaraderie that comes with it. The campground's breathtaking beauty captivated us, making each moment special. We even indulged in the classic camping tradition of building a campfire and roasting s'mores, a delightful treat for everyone.

During our stay, we decided to explore a local attraction, Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill. The grounds' simplicity and natural charm resonated with us, and we couldn't resist delving into the countryside. Along the way, we were captivated by the stone fences lining the roadways, adding a touch of historical charm to our journey.

While at Shaker Village, we had the opportunity to participate in a Shaker seed preservation workshop. It was a truly enlightening experience as we learned about preserving seeds for generations to come. Armed with our own preserved seeds, we're excited to plant and nurture them, keeping the Shaker traditions alive.

As we explored Shaker Village, we couldn't resist a delightful lunch at The Trustee, the on-site restaurant. The delicious meal perfectly complemented our tranquil day, making it a truly satisfying experience.

Our unplugged camping experience at Cummins Ferry RV Park was exactly what we needed to unwind and reconnect with nature. The allure of the waterfall, the camaraderie of a campfire, and the breathtaking surroundings made it an unforgettable journey. Exploring Shaker Village and taking part in the seed preservation workshop added depth to our adventure, giving us a deeper appreciation for the simple yet meaningful aspects of life. As we return home, we carry with us the memories of this peaceful oasis, reminding us to take time to unplug, embrace tranquility, and savor life's simple pleasures.
