LAKE GREESON - Murfreesboro, AR

Lake Greeson holds a special place in our hearts—it's a truly magical destination for our family. Firstly, it boasts the title of the prettiest and cleanest lake closest to our home, making it an ideal getaway spot. Unlike other popular lakes, Lake Greeson remains delightfully uncrowded, and during the summer, the water remains refreshingly cold, a blessing to escape the heat. Nestled in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains, this dammed lake offers a picturesque setting and endless possibilities for adventure.

Another extraordinary feature of Lake Greeson's vicinity is its proximity to the renowned Crater of Diamonds State Park. It's the only place in America where you can personally carry out a 5-gallon bucket of dirt to sift through at your leisure in search of precious diamonds.

When it comes to accommodation, Lake Greeson offers numerous options that cater to different preferences. For us, camping is the ultimate way to connect with nature, and there are several campsites to choose from. Our absolute favorite is Cowhide Cove II, which has provided us with countless unforgettable memories. If camping isn't your thing, worry not; the area also features numerous AirBNBs and VRBOs that offer comfortable and cozy stays. For those who prefer a traditional setup, there's a charming little motel in the nearby town of Murfreesboro, ensuring there's an option for everyone.

The video we've shared in this post takes you back to our very first camping trip to Lake Greeson. Since then, we've been bitten by the camping bug and have owned two campers, refining our travel experiences with each journey.

Lake Greeson remains a place of pure magic for our family—a haven where we can escape the bustle of everyday life and immerse ourselves in nature's beauty. Whether we're splashing in the cold waters, hunting for diamonds, or camping under the stars, Lake Greeson holds a special place in our hearts, and we hope our shared experiences inspire others to create their own cherished memories at this enchanting destination.
